OPAALE INRAE, located in Rennes, France, is seeking highly motivated postdoctoral Marie Skłodowska-Curie candidates to work on a cutting-edge project using volumetric velocimetry data to reconstruct high-resolution turbulent flow fields. We are seeking candidates with expertise in machine learning or data assimilation to join our team and use this valuable dataset to train flow reconstruction models. We recently conducted a massive experimental campaign and obtained high-quality data from nearly 200 experiments with various scenarios, including cylinder, step cylinder, flat plate, step plate, wall-bounded cylinder, and more. Our dataset consists of approximately 12 billion trajectories recorded in total for a variety of Reynolds numbers. This is a unique experimental dataset to train machine learning algorithms.

The call for postdoctoral fellowships - Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA-PF) will open on April 13th with a deadline in mid-September 2023. We welcome applications from individuals who are passionate about conducting innovative research in the field of fluid dynamics. To be eligible for the MSCA-PF, you should have a PhD no more than 8 years after completion, and your total stay in France for the last 36 months should not exceed 12 months.

We offer our support in preparing your proposal, and national contact points (NCPs) are available to assist with the administrative process of the MSCA-PF. OPAALE INRAE has a strong track record of success in European projects and has HR excellence. We encourage individuals who have the necessary skills and qualifications and are interested in being part of our dynamic and enthusiastic team to contact Dr. Dominique Heitz ( by the end of April 2023.

Please ensure that you check the MSCA-PF requirements before sending your application. We look forward to hearing from you and welcoming you to our team at OPAALE INRAE.
