Experimental Fluid Mechanics and Soft Matter Physics

This project aims to understand and model the fundamental physical mechanisms governing mass transfer and redistribution of liquid droplets induced by rolling wheels on contaminated surfaces. By combining experiments and modelling, the goal is to uncover how droplets deform, break, and spread under coupled capillary, inertial, and centrifugal effects, during the different stages of contact transfer and droplet ejections depicted above. This has implications for contamination and decontamination processes.
