Institut Pprime, through its Aerodynamics, Acoustics & Turbulence research group, seeks a highly motivated Research Engineer to join an applied research project in partnership with CNRS-Innovation and Airbus.

Following the elaboration of a novel flow-control framework [Martini et al., (2022) JFM Vol. 937], the Aerodynamics, Acoustics & Turbulence (2AT) research group of Institut Pprime has successfully developed four academic demonstrators of flow control in high-Reynolds-number, turbulent flow environments [e.g. Audiffred et al. (2024) JFM Vol. 994]. On that basis, supported by CNRS Innovation
and Airbus, 2AT researchers aim to develop a simplified aircraft propulsion system with integrated flow-control hardware and software.

The selected candidate will participate in the design of a small-scale jet-and-wing assembly equipped with integrated sensing and active surfaces. Flow-control algorithms used in three precursor studies will be adapted to drive the active surfaces, using real-time sensor data, so as to reduce noise emissions. Experiments will be performed at Bruit & Vent, the jet-noise facility of Institut Pprime.
