Stabilization of a turbulent toroidal plasma

At Plasma Physics Institute Marseille (PIIM-CNRS), Stabilization of a turbulent toroidal plasma increasing the central toroidal current. This experiment shows for the first time that the twisted magnetic field lines similar to the tokamak configuration can confine a dense helium plasma without instabilities. The soundtrack gives a direct information on the turbulence level inside the plasma, the suppression of turbulence leads to the disappearance of the anomalous transport.
